Can you post a link to the video? My machine won't show embedded videos right now. I'm guessing it's gonna be either Schola Hungarica or Ensemble Organum. Then again, does anybody else record Beneventan Chant?
I detect a byzantine influence, particularly in the use of ison. A beautiful rendition. Aside from the Latin, it sounds similar to what one might hear in a Greek church.

ReplyDeleteI don't know how much of that is unique to Benevento or has to do with Ensemble Organum's intepretation of it, but it does sound rather Eastern.
