I notice you've done some hand lettering there. It looks quite good! And as always I enjoy your subtle incorporation of heraldic elements into the design.

  2. Glad you noticed the heraldic insignias on the angels' dalmatics!

  3. Mathew! I do not know if it is a case of the Emperor's new clothes. Those around you tell you what they think is encoraging baecuse you have so many other talents. The ability to self evaluate and criticise is very Catholic. Humility which is based on reality. Mathew your drawings really lack something. Thay rea not playful or fun but just ghastly particularly when you draw the human form. Your achitectural drawings are fine. But human faces and then devotional drawings. I am telling you the truth. Please please stick to achitectural drawings. This latest drawing is really off putting. I have asked many others and they have usually exclaimed "ughhhhhh"!

  4. Tiny quibble: the Sun normally goes of the left (ie the image's "own right"). If you give the sun a face, the Moon should have one, too.

  5. Hmm...I have seen that in crucifixions but it did not occur to me to apply that here, but given the sun should have the place of honor as a symbol of Christ, it makes sense. I will remember that.

  6. Matthew, I came across your drawing by way of a ggole search of St. Dymphna! My 13 year old son is learning to do wood burning from line drawing sketch. Would you mind if we print this and he attempts to use it for a wood burning template? It would only be for personal use. Thank you for your consideration.
