Wheat and Tares

The old Liturgical Movement of the 1930s and beyond had a lot of truly good ideas--the concepts expressed in Sacrosanctum Concilium, for instance, and a few bad ones, like, say, most of the contents of Liturgical Arts Quarterly published after 1945. I've got a new post up at the New Liturgical Movement weblog suggesting what might have been at the root of some of the bad ideas, and how we might avoid those mistakes in the future.
